SALC supports Props 138 & 140 — SALC opposes Props 133, 134, & 314

SALC supports:

👍 Prop 138 — Tipped Workers Protection Act

Allows an employer to pay an employee that receives tips/gratuities a wage of up to 25% per hour less than the minimum wage provided the employee received not less than the minimum wage plus $2 for all hours worked

👍 Prop 140 — Make Elections Fair

• Treats all voters equally
• Establishes open primaries for county, statewide and federal elections
• Establishes same requirements for all candidates

SALC opposes:

👎 Prop 133 — Partisan Primary Elections

• Requires partisan primary elections for partisan offices

👎 Prop 134 — Initiative/Referenda Signatures 

• Requires statewide citizen initiatives to collect a percentage of signatures from each legislative district versus from the entire state

👎 Prop 314 — Border Security Act 

• Makes it a state crime to cross border between ports of entry
• Requires use of SAVE and E-Verify
• Increases the penalties for selling fentanyl that results in a death
