
Mary Rowley

Mary has more than 35 years of experience in marketing, media, education, government and association management. In 2003 she founded Strongpoint Marketing, an award-winning marketing strategy and market research firm, which merged in 2018 with a digital/creative/video agency to form NüPOINT Marketing, with offices in Tucson and Wilmington, Delaware. Previously Mary was vice president of a full-service ad agency and of a national professional association, press secretary for the Delaware superintendent of education, director of economic development marketing for Greater Baltimore, circulation marketing manager for the San Diego Union-Tribune and director of marketing, community relations and market research for The Arizona Republic. Before that she was a newspaper reporter and editor.
Mary holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from Augsburg University and an MBA from the University of Phoenix, where she has taught undergraduate marketing, public relations and consumer behavior. She is nationally accredited by the Public Relations Society of America. Mary also has presented at the American Press Institute and the International Newspaper Marketing Association.
She is board development chair of the United Way of Southern Arizona, treasurer of the Tucson Advertising Federation Educational Foundation and a member of the DM50. Previously she was past chair of the Pima Community College Board of directors, Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Central Arizona and The Breakfast Club of Tucson; past president of the Tucson Advertising Federation; marketing chair for the Arizona Theatre Company, and board member of Junior Achievement and the Christina-Taylor Green Memorial Foundation.
Mary was inducted into the American Advertising Federation’s Hall of Fame in Tucson and received its lifetime Silver Medal and Golden Pen awards. She also was honored with the Tucson Metro Chamber’s Sonoran Spirit Award, the Governor’s Award as an Arizona Woman of Achievement in Communications, YWCA’s Woman on the Move, and Woman of Influence from Inside Tucson Business.
