Mr. Tofel’s experience in financial analysis and customer relationship management for large multinational firms such as Accenture and Cadence Design Systems, has contributed to the Company’s many successes in multifamily construction. A 1991 graduate from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, and after over eight years in the financial business sector, Jim joined the family construction business. His initial position in the Company as field superintendent provided valuable hands-on experience in the art of building. In 2003, after experiencing other valuable positions within the Company, Jim was promoted to Vice President of Tofel Construction.
Presently as managing member for Business Development and Preconstruction Services, Jim has over 250 projects to his credit. Working directly with developers, architects, engineers, and the subcontractor community, Jim’s responsibilities include leading the Preconstruction Division in construction costing, drawing and specification review, ways and means analysis, value enhancement options, bidding processes, and importantly, coordinating with a wide array of governmental agencies such as HUD, state and local housing commissions, and coalitions. Jim’s passion for providing housing opportunities for those less fortunate has propelled Tofel Dent Construction to being one of the leading affordable housing general contractors in Arizona and New Mexico. With his leadership in the large multifamily project categories, including high-density market rate, senior living and mixed use projects, Tofel Dent Construction is proud to have completed many successful projects.
