Jean is a Senior Manager in Customer Experience for Republic Services, an Arizona-headquartered Fortune-500 environmental services company. In this role, she works with leaders and functions across 12 geographic areas to drive revenue, profitability, and customer service across multiple product verticals.

Jean has over a decade of experience across sales, customer experience, and P&L management functions, leading large teams both in-person and in remote environments. Prior to her current role, she served as Republic Services General Manager for the Tucson market, driving market share, local partnerships, and leading the waste and recycling collection and processing operation. She came into the company through its rotational leadership development program in Phoenix, gaining experience in operations, finance, and fleet maintenance.

Jean graduated with a bachelor’s degree in political science from Northwestern University, and an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her MBA was focused on Sustainable Enterprise, fueling her passion for cross-sector collaboration to improve societal and environmental outcomes.

Jean is the incoming Board President for Tucson Young Professionals, having served as Secretary for the last two years. She has also served as the Young Professionals Board Vice-Chair for HACE (Hispanic Alliance for Career Enhancement) and served as a VP for both her MBA program’s Student Association and Carolina Women in Business club.

She is originally from Tucson, though she grew up across Guatemala and El Salvador, spent her young adult years in Chicago, and is enjoying “boomeranging” back to Arizona.
