Todd Rockoff

President & CEO,
Tucson Jewish Community Center

Todd Rockoff is in the 40th year of his career in the Jewish Community Center (JCC) field. After completing his bachelor’s degree in recreation, leisure studies, and education from the State University of New York at Cortland, he began his career at Scranton JCC in Pennsylvania, in 1985. From 1995 – 2001, he served as the Assistant Executive Director then Executive Director for the Calgary JCC in Alberta, Canada. Subsequently he served as the Executive Director for the Shaw JCC of Akron, Ohio from 2002 – 2013. In 2013, Todd became the President and CEO for the Tucson J—where everyone belongs, and some people join.

Todd has been a frequent trainer and guest speaker at JCC Association Professional Conferences and J Summit; he has also led several sessions for Cohort Learning. Since 2007, he has consistently participated in JCC Benchmarking for data collection and identification of improvement implementation strategies. Todd helped lead the way in starting the Western Regional Conference in 2017, which allowed JCCs and affiliated camps in Arizona, Southern California, Utah and Colorado to collaborate on successful best practices and learning. Most recently, Todd has focused on diligently advocating for inclusion programs, practices, and policies within the JCC movement. Specifically, he has co-chaired a task force to bring leaders together to deepen and strengthen JCC leaders’ involvement in their inclusive and specialized programming for individuals with all ranges of abilities. This includes co-leading a local coalition amongst Jewish Agencies and Synagogues to raise collective consciousness around Safety*Respect*Equity. Todd has been a speaker at the annual SRE gathering at 2 of the last three conferences.

While Todd has been the President and CEO at the Tucson JCC, the agency budget has grown from $6.5M to $16.5M. In a two-year capital campaign project for renovating the sports and fitness facilities and equipment, and early childhood facilities, he oversaw project management and completion while raising more than $5M. Similarly, he has helped initiate and manage other capital projects that included the creation of the Garden of Hope, Sarver Tennis Center, the renovation of the Ballroom, and the renovation of the Jewish Heritage Center—projects totaling $4M.

At the end of 2019, Todd worked with Arts for All (an arts-based organization that serves adults and children with and without disabilities), and both Boards of Directors, to fully integrate the Arts for All program into the Tucson JCC organization. This integration expands services and programming beyond the Jewish community to reach more of the Tucson community as well as individuals with a diverse range of cognitive disabilities. Todd also joined the JCC Association Board of Directors in May 2020.

In the broader community, Todd chaired a leadership group of Arts and Culture CEOs in Tucson. Additionally, he serves on the editorial board of Community Recreation Magazine. Todd is also a member of the Southern Arizona Leadership Council.

Todd is married to Jenni and has 4 adult children and 5 grandchildren.
