Jennifer Mendrzycki is a growth-oriented Healthcare Leader who brings the rare combination of legal expertise, financial acumen and deep experience in transformation, operations, health system optimization and compliance.
Currently, Jennifer is President & Chief Executive Officer of TMC Health, in Tucson, AZ, the region’s fastest growing health system.
Prior to this, Jennifer was Senior Vice President & Chief Operating Officer for St. Joseph’s Health in New Jersey, where she provided leadership and change management for St. Joseph’s University Medical Center (SJUMC), St. Joseph’s Wayne Medical Center (SJWMC), Totowa Health Campus and St. Joseph’s Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, all located in Passaic County, and Visiting Health Services of New Jersey. She was responsible for all day-to-day operations of the entire health
system, leading 5,400 employees and overseeing $981 million in revenue.
This followed her time as the health system’s Senior Vice President, Site Executive & Outpatient Services, when Jennifer was promoted to the position to expand Primary Care, establish and implement an In-House Hospitalist program, and direct the design, construction and development of the Totowa Health Campus. She also led Oncology and Rehabilitation partnerships, and the creation of a Gynecologic Oncology Outpatient program.
She was recruited to St. Joseph’s Health as Vice President of St. Joseph’s Wayne Medical Center in Wayne, NJ, where Jennifer implemented strategic objectives, grew new programs, improved the bottom line and fostered community and government relationships as the executive in charge of strategy and operations. Within the first 16 months, she implemented a turnaround of SJWMC from a $4 million loss to a gain of $4 million.
Before this, Jennifer held a number of leadership roles at RWJBarnabas Health (Newark Beth Israel Medical Center – NBIMC & Children’s Hospital of New Jersey – CHoNJ) in New Jersey. As a Member of the Senior Management Team, she was promoted into progressive senior management positions in Compliance and Operations to develop and drive strategic initiatives and grow market share for a state-designated children’s hospital and safety-net hospital in the City of Newark.
Earlier in her career, Jennifer spent more than a decade as a Defense Trial Attorney, serving as a trusted legal advisor to major hospital and healthcare providers, local and national corporations, privately held companies, governmental entities and municipalities on medical malpractice, compliance and regulatory issues.
Jennifer’s extensive Board and community leadership experience includes serving on the St. Vincent Academy (Newark, NJ) Board, the Catholic University of America Alumni Board and as a Member of the Executive Leadership Team for the American Heart Association Go Red for Women. She also has served on the New Jersey Hospital Association (NJHA) Healthcare Business Solutions Board. She is Founder and a Board Member of JJKares, LLC, which provides technology to children in hospitals for entertainment and so they can connect with family. She has been a Member of the New Jersey Hospital Association (NJHA) Policy Development Committee, the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE)-New Jersey Membership Committee and the Catholic Health Association Environmental Sustainability Group, and a First Year Moot Court Competition Judge for the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University.
Jennifer earned a Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) from Seton Hall University, a Juris Doctor (JD) from the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in History from Catholic University of America. She is an American College of Healthcare Executives Fellow. She has been admitted to the Bar of the U.S. District Court, Southern and Northern Districts of New York; the States of New York and New Jersey; and the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.
Additional volunteer activities have included serving as a Religious Education Teacher, Eucharistic Minister and Lector at Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church, Chatham, NJ.
Outside of work, Jennifer enjoys golfing, hiking and spending time with her husband and two teenage children.
